Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) och Region Blekinge gör tillsammans en långsiktig forskningssatsning på framtidens marina teknik.
Under fem år investeras 50 miljoner kronor för att bygga upp en ledande miljö för utbildning, forskning och innovation inom marinteknik – i nära samverkan med näringsliv och samhälle.
Syftet är att skapa en internationellt attraktiv forskningsmiljö där studenter, forskare och företag tillsammans utvecklar lösningar som stärker Sveriges marina förmåga.
Genom satsningen byggs Marine Technology Center of Sweden (MTC) upp som en central plattform för forskning, samverkan och testbäddar inom marin teknik.
We conduct applied research in ocean-based energy – from wind and waves to underwater electrification.
MTC collaborates with the Swedish Armed Forces, FMV and industry partners in developing autonomous underwater systems and maritime defense technologies.
Through sensors, data and AI, we monitor marine life, movement and environmental impact – for a safe and sustainable future.
We develop digital platforms, simulations and decision-support systems that connect people, machines and the ocean.

MTC is part of Blekinge Institute of Technology’s (BTH) research environment in marine technology – an initiative carried out in close collaboration with Region Blekinge, the Swedish Armed Forces and industry partners.
