During their very first week at BTH, the students gained a hands-on introduction to the professional world that awaits them after graduation. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>A wide range of companies, organisations and public sector actors were present \u2013 all there to meet the engineers of the future.<\/p>\n\n<p>The initiative was led by Johan Hjortsberg, Programme Director for the Master of Science programme in Naval Architecture, who also served as moderator for the day.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mtcos.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/DSC02194-1000x667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10493\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mtcos.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/DSC02194-1000x667.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.mtcos.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/DSC02194-750x500.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.mtcos.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/DSC02194-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mtcos.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/DSC02194-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.mtcos.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/DSC02194-2048x1366.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s not just the students who should get to know the industry. The industry also needs to get to know the students. The present meets the future.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u2013 Johan Hjortsberg, BTH<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ett-kvitto-pa-regionens-styrka\"><strong>A testament to the strength of the region<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Bringing together so many actors \u2013 from industry, the public sector, and high-tech sectors \u2013 already during the introduction week not only demonstrates strong engagement. It also clearly highlights the weight and relevance the region holds. <\/p>\n\n<p>This region offers more than just competence \u2013 it is home to future-focused industries, essential societal functions, and a wide range of career opportunities. The fact that organisations like FMV, the Swedish Armed Forces, Saab Kockums, AFRY, NKT, Ericsson and many others are involved from day one shows that together, we are a driving force for development \u2013 both locally and nationally. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A hands-on encounter with the real world<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Throughout the day, each organisation presented their operations, their needs \u2013 and what they can offer future engineers. Everything from thesis projects and internships to summer jobs and full-time positions. Here, the path from studies to employment is not only short \u2013 it\u2019s integrated from day one. The introduction week was a clear example of that.  <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cIt was incredibly valuable to get a clear picture of what all these organisations actually do \u2013 and the opportunities that exist.
