Bakgrund till varför projekt startades

There is a growing need to monitor underwater environments and infrastructure with precision and scalability. Traditional methods often lack the range, sensitivity, or adaptability needed – especially in marine contexts where real-time data is critical.

Beskrivning av projektet i sin helhet

The project customizes and advances DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing) for marine use. Using laser light and fiber optics, the system detects vibrations and sounds across long distances. The solution includes:

– Integration of existing fiber-optic cables
– Use of array-based technology for scalability
– A combination of optoelectronics, signal analysis, and marine engineering

The system enables detailed real-time analysis of underwater environments and enhances understanding of both structural and ecological changes.
