At the Marine Technology Center of Sweden, collaboration is about creating opportunities. We connect ideas, people, and organizations – and help them grow into something bigger. We are not the main characters, but we make others shine.
Through our network, we gather academia, industry, and authorities around common goals.
Together, we create innovations that strengthen Sweden’s marine expertise and defense capabilities.
For ideas to grow, meetings are required. Therefore, we operate formats that bring people together – across industry boundaries and roles. Our most appreciated initiatives are Marine Innovation Day (MID) and the Student Challenge, where companies, researchers, and students meet to solve real challenges.
Many successful projects and collaborations have started at MTC.
By gathering the right skills and creating clear frameworks, we help initiatives go from idea to implementation.
“We are very much in the same boat. We share challenges – and by moving in sync between academia, industry, and authorities, we can solve them together.”
– Henrik Jonsson, Swedish Coast Guard
“Here, there are interfaces between university and industry. It is natural to talk to defense, industry, and the public sector, and that is unique to Karlskrona.”
– Carolina Bergeling, Senior Lecturer, BTH
“With Karlskrona’s history as a naval city, I see great value in having a center where technology companies, academia, and authorities collaborate. This is a breeding ground for concrete results.”
– Therese Tärnholm, Commander & Head of Naval Research
Whether you represent a company, an authority, or a research environment – we help you turn ideas into action.
