Project Background

Small drones have become widely accessible and now pose a real threat to military ships—even in peacetime. Traditional naval radar systems are not designed to detect such small targets, and uncertainty remains regarding the effectiveness of fire control radar. The war in Ukraine has underscored the seriousness of this threat.

Complete Project Description

The project begins with a thorough technical analysis of the challenges involved in radar-based drone detection, including signal processing, electromagnetic modeling, and real-world measurements. It then focuses on developing new methods to detect, classify, and track drones using:

– Systems engineering
– Signal processing
– Machine learning
– Radar technology

The goal is to ensure future naval vessels can handle drone threats more effectively.
