Blekinge Institute of Technology and the Swedish Coast Guard have entered into a new cooperation agreement focused on education, research, and innovation. The Marine Technology Center of Sweden (MTC) views this as a milestone in the development of Karlskrona and the Blekinge region as Sweden’s naval capital.
It is in Karlskrona that the naval technology of the future is being developed – and now regional collaboration is being further strengthened. Through a newly signed agreement between Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) and the Swedish Coast Guard, a joint commitment to education, research, innovation, and competence development is being formalized.
“This collaboration between BTH and the Swedish Coast Guard is both long-awaited and strategically important. As a maritime nation with a special security responsibility in the Baltic Sea, we must continuously strengthen our shared capabilities,” says David Appelberg, Innovation Lead at the Marine Technology Center of Sweden.
